I probably said this someplace else, but what with redeeming RCI Elite Rewards for Member Dollars, starting an Ongoing Search which did not match, then confiming an exchange I saw online but having to call in to get it, because the Ongoing Search was still in place, and RCI attempting to credit us for having to pay the Call Center rates for stuff we could not get done online because online transactions require new money . . .

. . . our account got all screwed up. I know the Guides involved have screwed it up, and I have posted that.

While we were in Florida, my feedback person told me it was such a mess that accounting couldn't figure it out. She offered to mail me a copy, but I suggested we settle for a fair amount, and she agreed.

Today I actually called to renew (extend) our membership , so I could actually start an Ongoing Search for our 2012 weeks.

They would not accept the credit that has been posted to our account.

Yesterday I actually did receive a statement of our account for the last year.

It is soooooooooo screwed up that the only way to reconcile it is to do what we did, agree on an amount, and let it go at that.

And, yes, each of the screw-ups was from Guides on those occasions when I had to call in to get something done, because it cannot be done online, like using existing credit, like Member Dollars from RCI Elite Rewards.

That has been a problem for 12 years now, so you think someone there could figure out a way to do it, as have virtually all companies doing business on the Internet.

Still no word as to why I cannot using the current coupon balance to renew our subscription, so I can start an Ongoing Search.

And how many years have you been complaining about RCI rewards ? Maybe you should do what I did--drop the rewards card then drop RCI---life is much more simple.

Wanna buy 6 weeks, so I can follow your advice?

        Reasonable.

My feedback helper came through again, almost. She had accounting extend our membership one year and took $89 from our credit (without asking me first).

Only thing is, I wanted to renew for 3 years @ $229, to get the savings and to get rid of all of our credit, so I don't have to hassle with it any more. The way it is, there is still a credit I can't use online.

          Wait and see again . . .

With help like that, you should be a sole proprietor.

Another way of saying what I've been saying for years, do it yourself.

Predictably, I have worn out my welcome with my feedback person. I do not want to have to keep bugging her, and I could see this coming, but things keep getting screwed up. Everyone has their limit and I realize hearing from me often was wearing on her. I could hear it in some of her word choice.

She was the only one who seemed to have some real knowledge and ability.

But now I have been passed on, up.

I use my RCI points from the credit card for hotel certificates and gas cards.

Maybe that's not the best use of my points but at least I don't get frustrated with their accounting.

There are lots of nice rewards, maybe you should check them out.

Alot less frustrating than dealing with RCI for your account needs.

                    Did you say frustrating?

                    Here's how it works:

                    1. Screw up customer's account.

                    2. Customer contacts Feedback (customer service)

                    3. Screw up customer's account again.

                    4. Customer contacts feedback

                    etc., etc., until

                    Feedback gets pissed at customer.

I am trying to help you end your frustration.

Trust me getting some gas cards or free hotel rooms won't be frustrating.

                      It will feel like Christmas.

Pay the RCI fees cash and use your points for something else.

At least that's what I do and NO frustration.

Here is a smiley for you to relieve your frustration.

I appreciate the advice, but those of you who know me know I am a fixer, not an ignorer. I would rather work to see the system fixed than to leave it messed up for everyone.

In that regard, and as has been the case for all but once in our 21 years with RCI, I have been accomodated again, more than was necessary. I did not even have to speak to the Supervisor. It appears she just reviewed what has transpired and made the accomodation.

I am also pleased to report that she said the thing I have pointed out about the issues regarding Online Transactions, and Guides, is being worked on.

"RCI is currently working to allow members to see and utilize both
coupons and member reward dollars online. I will forward your feedback
                        to management for review."

Now, if they just could go out and find all the stuff that disappeared 5/30!

                          Jim,

I hope you get it all fixed.

Hopefully you'll have it all fixed by the time I need to do my bookings.

I have never understood why existing credits could not be used Online.

I do understand why Guides are not allowed to make refunds or charge the Online rate . . . because they do not want the people who take money to have the power to give it. That opens the door for dishonesty, and they apparently don't believe they have the ability to keep tabs on that.
