  • Found a comp week in my account today

This morning when I logged on I found this in my weeks account. It wasn't there at 1 am this morning:

Resort Certificate: 2-45 days 24-Jan-2010 to 10-Mar-2010 [8,926] Available to Exchange - CompWeek

First time I've seen anything like this.

Yes there is one in my account too. Seems to be good for LM stuff. For all I know it's part of the "settlement".

hmmm, good point, didn't think of that. They've also been emailing frequently about how many 'Last Calls' they have available. Maybe they are just trying to pump up sales. You're guess is better though since they haven't bothered to notify me that they gave it to me.

Maybe they're trying to make amends for the loss of your So. Cal trading power!

Where would you find this week?

I never use the online exchange, I usually call in because I seem to do better calling in. Maybe it's the VRI preference but I'm still learning this stuff.

I don't see a week in my account.
Would it be in the weeks account or points account?
          Can't find one.
Did I have to do something to get the RCI settlement?

It was in my weeks account when I went to search for an exchange.

Then I guess I didn't get one because I hit exchange and the only option was my own week.

My account shows a One Plus One with a start date of today with an expiration date of May 2008 (yes, 2008). I'm thinking that this is a glitch with their system so I am not getting excited about having an extra week showing up. RCI did do maintenance last night, correct???

I have one also. However, RCI does not give you a decent span of time to use it. The only week I would be able to travel is President's week. Of course, there is not much available that week on the east coast. Besides the fact that I already have my week planned out.

I accidently discovered that it's good until the end of the year:

Resort Certificate: 2-45 days 25-Jan-2010 to 11-Mar-2010 [8,525] Available to Exchange - CompWeek
                    Relation #: 00062 Unit: n/a Interval: n/a Max Occ/Priv: n/a Booking Start Date: 25-Jan-2010 Booking Expiration Date: 01-Jan-2011

You can only see units with 45 days, but it's a rolling 45 days until the end of the year.

                      OK that's pretty cool! Thanks.

What is triggering these weeks to apear in accounts? Leae it to RCI to do something that has value to members but not explain it!

I didn't get such a week. I last deposited weeks in October during the $35 promo - which I fully used and was happy with.

I don't see it as a big deal. I phoned RCI yesterday and was told the transaction fee is US$194 or Canadian $209 for the complimentary vacation and I show 8,000+ vacation options.
In last Call vacations there are 30,000+ vacation options albeit that there maybe a $30 - $50 saving on the transaction fee with the complimentary week. The majority in the Caribbean, where I would prefer to go are in the Dominican and have the added cost of the All Inclusive package. I really don't see to much to get excited about??

It's designed to unload last minute inventory. If you know when to look, you could snag a decent last minute vacation. For $179 for an online trade, I can get a long weekend on the California coast for $60 a night. If I had the vacation time, I would stay the whole week for $26 a night. I would bet you would have no problem getting a week in the Caribbean in April or May once those dates fit into the 45 day window.

This is the first time RCI has given me anything that did not have limits on where I could travel. In the past I have had about a dozen 'one plus one' weeks where there were about 4 to 6 areas I could choose from and I was not interested in any of them.

But then if other people see this as a good offer then great.
