2006 - The year of the member

I had to laugh out loud when I saw the insert that came with my RCI wish book proclaiming 2006 to be the "Year of the member".

Does this mean every other year was not the year of the member or does this mean they are changing their ways and actually going to treat us like "members" istead of fair game this year?

As Rummy would say, "Who knows"!
And to think they actually paid someone to think that one up.

Very interesting...this member didn't even get the wish book, even after calling nearly 4 weeks ago and being told they were putting one in the mail...

Yeah, Fletch had some good insight on the RCI Points issue, although he departed too early to have a say on the rentals issue. Too bad that he considers involvement on t/s boards to be a conflict of interest with his present job.

How can anyone forget Fletch ? I hear he's doing very well in Florida at Marriott. I would have tried to call him and get together when I was in Orlando last year, but I heard he was off on a vacation.

Doesn't member imply joining something voluntarily? I guess if you sign up and pay a membership fee you are joining voluntarily.

Not sure that joining such is all that beneficial though.
