        Not to belabor it, but actually you could see exactly the same match with another deposit, even with one already on Hold, especially at large resorts, those with identical multiple deposits.

          Second unit the same week . . . I had thought of that, but also thought they might have a way to ask you, to make sure, before you screw up.

            I'm not sure I understand the question, but here are some more facts that may or may not be relevant to whatever the question happens to be.

            If a deposit is currently holding a unit, and you try to confirm something else onto it, or hold something else with it, the website will warn you, and requires you to check a box saying that you understand the currently-held-week will be released.

            Likewise, if a deposit is currently associated with an ongoing search, and you try to confirm something else onto it, or hold something else with it, the website will warn you, and requires you to check a box saying that you understand the currently-ongoing-search will be cancelled.

            If a unit is currently being held by any deposit in the system, it should no longer show up in a search that anyone performs, until such time as it is either released from hold or (if later confirmed) cancelled.

            But, the real answer to your question is: start with My Vacation Plans first and quit beating this not-quite-dead-horse, so that you can get on with your coffee, newspaper, or makeup expeditiously.

              Got my coffee, newspapers are a thing of the past, and makeup is optional, but it seems logical that if they have all the safeguards/warnings/notices you mention, they might have the one I'm asking about.

              But they don't, I guess.

                  Oops, spoke too soon.

                  I got a match . . . Marco Resort and Club . . . one of the worst in SW FL.

                  I gave it back. No problem releasing it and then I saw it in a search.

                  Wonder why I got it instead of someoone else? Since L has been seeing MR&C, as have I, for Jan, 2011, for the last week, maybe I'm the only one with an Annoyng Search for that area/dates.

                  Maybe they offered it to a bunch of other people and they turned it down, too.

                  Maybe instead of listing resorts you want, you should be able to search by area, but list the resorts you don't want.

                  We might get one of my questions answered . . . if you turn down a resort will it match to it again?

                  I also learned that if you select to search for one week, it will search for two. My search was for 1/7 and the match was for 1/14, the next week. We need 1/14 also, so I left it that way. I guess you would have switch it to ZERO weeks since one RCI week is at least 8 days long.

                  By selecting 1 week I figured it would search for other check-in dates the same week, but not for another week. I figured that's what the 2 is for.

                    It's still there, so there must not be another Annoying Search looking for it, or no one searching manually for it.

                      As I was doing some of my other very important work, it ocurred to me that if it is that unclear what 1 means or what Week means, perhaps we had better discuss it.

                      I thought I had a pretty good grasp of how the calendar works, but thought I'd better go look again, just to be sure . . . Yup, it's the way I remember it. Just so we're on the same (calendar) page, here's the one we're talking about:

                      (PS: Sorry that the spacing doesn't work when I copy and paste. But, you know how calendars look in real life, with all the dates lined up under the correct days . . . If not, here, look at this one: http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/...th=1&country=1 )

                      Right off the bat there are some things that stick right out.

                      For instance, there are seven days in each week (even the weeks you can't see all the days for . . . the days after 31 are hidden for suspense, so retired people have something to look forward to). The calendar people decided to make this easy since they put seven days in the very first week that year. Guess they didn't want anyone starting off a new year confused about how many days there would be that week. New Year's parties can do that to folks, I've been told.

                      Anyway those challenged by upper math, say subtraction, should not be in 2012. Well, not the first week, but after that they will have problems.

                      Another thing that hits you right off is that there is only one of each day in each week. As applies to our present case, for example, no weeks have 2 Saturdays. Well, no weeks in the month we are looking at, but I have learned to never say no . . . or never.

                      So, what might it mean to search for 1 Week?

                      Well, that's the rub, isn't it???

                      If they mean one calendar week, that would mean 1/1-1/7, wouldn't it? Of course, we all know that is not what is meant, cuz no one wants to be checking into a resort 6 days before their plane arrives. Well, unless you wanted to get there to check-out. But, to be certain there is no confusion, they ask for your first check-in date, to which I entered 1/7.

                      Now we've got a real problem, cuz 1/7 is the last day of the week. If I say I want to search for 1 Week, not including 1/1-1/6, does that mean 1/7 is the only check-in date I want to search for? Actually, something good for 1/8 would be OK . . . but Sunday is the first day of the next week.

                      Dang, this is tough.

                      In any event, if 1 week actually means 7 days, it would not include 1/14, well, unless as you were counting on your fingers & you missed a day or two the next week, or if, sadly, you are missing some fingers. No offense taken, cuz I know some really great people with finger problems. They are not lesser for it . . .well, not much lesser.

                      But, then, to give them the benefit of the doubt, when you look at the calendar, and get into that second week, I can see how for some it could be confusing, because the calendar is not set up real logical-like. Huh?!

                      Well, time to go back to some other very important work. Not that I have to worry about getting it done today, Saturday, because tomorrow is Saturday also.

                      PS: It would be really easy to fix this problem, and that would be for them to ask for First Desired Check-in Date and Last Desired Check-in Date, but the website would be down for a month and more stuff would disappear.
