I've never been personally, but I know the attorney who originally set up the legal docs for these resorts.

It's an older development, but seems to have maintained a consistent niche.. The units come with their own motorboat (it's a $50 fee for the week's usage) and the resort has a reputation as being extremely laid back.. You can spend the day trolling around for crappies on the lagoon- which isn't a bad way to spend the day..

I haven't been involved with many sales here, as the association sells weeks for as little as $250.

We are water-people, boaters and jetskiers, so that is a big plus.

However, unless they only have three units, there is not one boat per unit.

      Check out the virtual tour.

I hope you are kidding me! I've seen the original development docs- each unit was to have one assigned mooring and a 15-ft boat with a small hp motor.. That gimmick alone sold a ton of units for them!

Perhaps the association has cut back.. But I hope they aren't down to only three boats. If you go, please post a review and get me up to speed on the resort.

          Jim,

If it's anything like Bonita R & C, it won't be hard to get a boat.
I find most people only used them one or two days for a few hours so there was not a problem getting a boat, unless of course you want it all 7 days.

I'm dying to try out this resort too.

            Well, don't die over it.

Kinda figured you'd chime in. Go check it out; you're closer.

All the pictures of the boats show 3. There does not appear to be enough slips for the number of units there appear to be.

Yeah, I know how the boat reservation thing goes. Sign up the day before for the next day AM or PM. At BR&C there are 5 (when they are all in service) for 26 units. Last time there were four old ones and one new one. But, our ticket into BR&C will likely never get punched again.

Most days you can look out and see one of them there, and take it out.

Hee Hee. Okay not literally dying to go but would love to do that resort this year. If the layoffs at my job go thru I just might be on a permanent vacation then I'll let you know for sure.

As for Bonita, believe it or not my last 2 weeks stay was bought on ebay for $99 a week. It wasn't even an exchange just a rental from an owner. I do see it available though as a rental for pretty cheap on VRIety. About $284 or some odd number like that but of course it's closer to summer when I know you don't want to be here.

Let me know when you see a January week for that.

I did see one this year for $600. I called and talked to them. It was 105, a dumpster-view unit. We actually had it once, a Week 53 when they let us rent like owners.

remember Ray (?) on TUG who used to stay in timeshares for 6 plus months a year. He frequently stayed at Oyster Pointe. I remember asking him about it years ago.

I'll keep my hawk eyes out for it.

You know I'm not going there in January.

                      Yup.

                      Nice folks.

                      Hope they're doing OK.

We stayed at Oyster Pointe one year in March (I think I wrote a review about it, and I know I had a photo of it published in TSToday). It was a nice resort, but the units are quite small. They do not have a dishwasher.

If I remember correctly, there was a laundry room instead of washers/driers in the units. At that time, there was free usage of the machines. The pool was huge, and very nice. We didn't have a chance to rent one of the boats, but that would be fun.
