  • expired deposit

Got an email today from RCI asking me to complete a survey about my expired deposit. One of the questions involved whether I was notified that the week was due to expire. There is no such week! Anyone else get this message?

Maybe due to their wonderful record keeping, they're giving away weeks. Only problem is, they forgot to notify the winner!!!

Nope, I got this one about improving my trade power

RCI - Understanding Trading Power - Inside RCI

"If you’ve ever spoken with an RCI Vacation Guide, or received membership information from RCI, you’ve probably heard or seen the following recommendation, “Deposit Early to Maximize Your Trading Power”. You’ve probably also asked yourself, “What exactly does that mean?".

We’re here to tell you what Trading Power is, why it’s so important to Deposit Early, and we'll tell you exactly when your deposit is considered "Early"."

      - NOTE: By depositing 2 years to 9 months before the start date of your week, you can help maximize your Deposit's Trading Power.

      9 months???

I also received an "expired deposit" email, but I've never let a regular timeshare deposit expire. Maybe they're referring to their one-plus-one weeks, which I've let many go unused.

I got that email also. I thought the same thing... 9 months? I used to deposit closer to the 2 year mark as I wasn't doing anything else with the weeks anyway. But now I may wait until much close to use date.

If we think exchanges are hard to find now, just wait until more and more people wait until much closer to use date to deposit. But maybe as most "normal" people don't plan that far out (1 year +), it won't effect most exchangers...??
