Lockout question-- I split mine

You can always get two units if they won't re-combine for you--and that wouldn't be a bad deal: more room for everyone. We've also found that the size of the unit we're trading seems to have little to do with whether we get a one bedroom or a two bedroom most of the time. Try doing some shoppping on the site to see what it pulls before you worry too much about re-combining the deposit."You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity." I had a really bad trader that was a lockout. When I deposited as a three bedroom unit, I saw the same inventory that each of the split one and two bedroom units saw. Exactly the same. I had the previous years units to compare with the larger one from the current year so there was no question. I called and had them split the deposit up. If you have a good trader, maybe it's different. However, you're asking them to trade two exchange fees for one (theoretically) so maybe they will give you a hard time.

You are probably better off have split the lock off. Why give them a bigger unit to only get the same choices? This way you can get 2 units (probably a better way to go if traveling with a larger group, as suggested above) for the cost of an "extra" exchange fee. Or get a 2nd exchange somewhere else, some other time for the "extra" exchange fee.
I am not a member of II but my understanding there is that size of deposited unit DOES effect what you can see/pull.

II has historically been more size sensitive than RCI. RCI is beginning to change that, so depending on where you want to go, it may or may not be an issue.
It all depends on what you are depositing and where and when you want to go, but for right now you are probably ok in RCI unless you are looking for something in very high demand.
