I must say that I have been lucky with my exchanges by planning way to far in advance. That being said, when you have them on the phone, the majority of the people I speak to leave a lot to be desired.

I watch the sightings threads for good trades. That helps.

But RCI has a bad system for entering criteria to come up with resorts. I like II's system much better, searching all destinations is a great way to check for other places that you might consider but would not think to enter specfically.

If I know I have to look for certain dates, I feel sure I am not going to find anything with RCI weeks. Now RCI points is another thing altogether. I can pull about any week I want just about 9-10 months out. The cost for Hawaii resorts in points was increased drastically on January 1st.

RCI points: Point increases make trades more $ 50
      Availability for points resorts 90

I would have to rate RCI at about 50. I am really unhappy with the $26 fee to deposit a week for points. I would rate my trades as so-so. I can't seem to get where I want to go even searching way out with plenty of RCI points.

A 60 because I have nothing to compare it to

I have been with RCI since 2002, I bought a Glenmore Sands, SA and purchased 6 years of RCI in the deal. At first we thought RCI was great, my first week in a timeshare was a bonus week in Oct. of that same year, it cost $247 in a nice Gold Crown Resort in Orlando. Since then the prices have doubled and more for the same time frame.....hmmmmm

          1. Since getting into RCI I have noticed continual increasing fees, and the guest cert fee I still have a hard time figuring out how they justify that price.

          2. Not getting the same decent trades anymore like I did in the first two years.

          3. An escalating rental program, which as others have said may be pulling good weeks out of the pool.

          4. VEP? Part of the hidden formula for weeks, and why is it attached to bonus weeks? I have heard the old nonsense reasons, none of which still make a lick of sense to me.

I think after the first week in June, I am going to sell my SA. I'd do it now but we have a H.S. Senior graduating and a Open House to get ready for.
We have decided to buy a resale where we want to go every year, and will use the independents to trade if the desire arises.

I give RCI a 60, and thats generous.
