Manhattan Club Availability

Can anyone out there who has the capability to check for me look to see if there is any availability at the Manhattan Club for the second week in July 2011? Thanks!

Also, has anyone stayed there before? I have a question. I usually go grocery shopping upon arrival at any vacation resort we visit. Is there a grocery store where I can go and pick up groceries in NYC or is it a place were we are going to have to eat out every time? I know that the Manhattan Club offers breakfast. Can anyone tell me about the breakfast?

We just checked in yesterday!
There is a market on the next street, 57th St. An easy walk.
They serve a continental breakfast for $14.95 per person in the lounge on the 26th floor, or you can choose 3 items for in-room service for $10 per person.
There is a diner on 8th Ave. at 55th - Applejack Diner which is very reasonable and has fast service.
There is no oven or stovetop, just a microwave, fridge and dishwasher.

Manhattan Club

There is a cute little dining table bit enough for 2 in the studios and I think 4 in the one bedrooms (both sizes are available through RCI).

There are several grocery stores within a few blocks of Manhattan Club. There are also some places to go for simple inexpensive meals such as the Cosi in Times Square - the brie and fruit plate was about $6 and made a great light lunch.

The breakfast at Manhattan Club didn't appeal to us - just some pastry rolls, dry cereals and that kind of thing. NYC is a food lover's paradise so other than breakfast, we ate out. Don't be fooled into thinking every meal has to cost a fortune -- many of our favorite meals were very reasonably priced, and our least favorite (tho still fine) was the most expensive.

So, in the parcial kitchen there is no stove or oven. Right? I have been looking around on the internet for good restaurant deals. I got Groupon.com that kind of works like restaurants.com. You can get half off coupons at many good places. Look it up while you are there.

You will need a stellar trader to even see a studio unit. If you cannot see what Jackio posted with your anticipated trader you will certainly not see any summer weeks. I can tell you a summer (eweek 27) Cape Cod beach resort will no longer see Manhattan Club.....

I am not familiar with the trading power either
I own at Wyndham Bonnet Creek and Kingsgate. I will be depositing points into RCI to make my exchange. How do you think that will trade?

I can't pull it up because of the way my week was deposited. I don't know why. But they said I have to call to get availablity which I will do tomorrow.

I believe very firmly that neither of those resorts are going to be able to see TMC.

You have enough posts to read the thread I linked above. There is a discussion on what does and doesn't see it and what sees or doesn't see the larger units.

There is no trade power issue with RCI Points

Assuming you mean that you'll be using RCI Points, you don't have to worry about trade power. You just need to make sure you are depositing something that will get you enough points to book the days you want.

Manhattan Club units show up at the 10 month mark pretty much daily in RCI Points. Often there will be both a studio and a 1 bedroom. I would check right at midnight ET for the new inventory availability.

There was a period of about 2 months last year when there were ZERO deposits of MC into RCI Points, but as soon as the deposit dates rolled around to Jan 2011, the daily deposits started up again.

Wyndham points won't do it either....you may want to consider reserving a holiday week at one of the resorts listed here: http://www.timeshareforums.com/forum...tml#post392572 with Wyndham using your wyndham points and try to get Manhattan Club or HGVC @ W57 ST thru SFX.

Of course there are no guarantees there either but a nice Old Town Alexandria at the right time of year would at least stand a chance as opposed to your current plan of using RCI.

Anita I'm thinking the OP was talking about depositing Wyndham points into RCI given that they have to "call in" makes me pretty positive that is indeed the scenario here.

You are right on about RCI points though. There is no tradepower. Anyone that has enough points and the inclination can book TMC that way through RCI.
