  • RCI Makes a Change

After years of being asked to do this . . .

    Hello,

    Thank you for your e-mail.

We can certainly understand your concern and our Technical Staff worked
diligently to enable members with Member Reward Dollars (MRD) posted to
their accounts to use these credits. With a recent upgrade, we are
pleased to let you know that this was made possible. When confirming a
vacation online, members will now have the option to use their MRDs
during the payment process. I regret if you were told otherwise.

In addition to your MRDs, I note you also have a $20 coupon posted to
your account. Although members can choose to use their MRDs or not,
coupons and any exchange balances posted to the account will
automatically be used. This is helpful as coupons expire but MRDs do
    not.

    Kind Regards,

So, after these years of asking for stuff like this, am I the only one that cares that they finally got it done?

      Pretty much.

I am seeing extremely little quality even in shoulder seasons that piques my interest these days. I am not horrendously picky but it's been a good long time since anything in the caribbean has made me jump up and down for joy.

Very rare for anything of value to show up outside of the very last minute.

I know what they are doing. I just can't prove it. Yet.

I don't know anything about "Member Reward Dollars" so this doesn't excite me. Perhaps there aren't many others here who can relate.

Yup, I don't know what they are or have any as far as I know.

How do you use these coupons. I supposedly have a $25 coupon but it's never been applied than I'm aware of.

What's a Member Reward Dollar and how do you get them?

                Thanks,

It's a shame that MRD's clouded the point I was trying to make, that RCI has been asked for years to enable account credits to be used online, and they just now got it done, although I have not been able to confirm that.

The point of that is that in able to use existing credits in the past, you had to call a Guide, and the fee for doing that is higher than online. Then, the Guide was supposed to issue (and use) a credit equal to the difference between the live fee and the online fee. TFew Guides knew to do that, so that you would wind up with a credit in you account that, of course, you could not use online, so you had to call in . . .

Member Reward Dollars are the credits you get from redeeming RCI Elite Rewards points earned using their (BOA's) credit card.
