When calling to fix a small problem in my account yesterday, I was greeted with an automated message that RCI would be down the entire day this Saturday---including the call center.
Extended RCI maintenance windows always give me the willies. I wonder what surprises they have planned for us this time.
Please Note - The system will be unavailable Saturday, August 7th from 2:00 AM to Sunday, August 8th at 9:00 AM Eastern Daylight Time due to regularly scheduled system maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
If the call center is closed it is very possible that they are doing the annual power down / emergency testing and not a website "enhancement".

You mean like in case their members stage a mass attack? I've got a Monty Python (Holy Grail) scene stuck in my head
I don't get it......Since lots of people have off on the weekends, wouldn't RCI want to make their site available to them? Why close down for an entire weekend? Strange!

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

As was done on 5/30/09, don't you think they have shut down to remove more desireable stuff from the Spacebank?
I am having a discussion on another forum with someone totally new to timesharing and RCI. They are not owners, but have access to RCI through an Aunt/Uncle.
They are trying to understand why they are able to get decent stuff from RCI for $300/week, plus $59, when they don't even own anything, when those who do own and who have provided the stuff, have paid so much to own the stuff and have so much more than $300 in annual resort fees and RCI fees wrapped up in the stuff.
Even people who do not understand the total concept of timesharing and exchanging know the smell when they smell it. For those who live in the country, we know the dead animal or septic smell when we smell it.
Trying to keep my answer to them simple, it is pretty much, when you have obtained the stuff free, and when you feel no moral or legal obligation to those who have funded the system and who provide the stuff, $300 is better than $179.
