Williamsburg is open all year round.. Its not just for summer anymore!

The weeks after are still 12. Williamsburg in January is so Last Call.

If it makes you feel any better as an owner of week 6 Greensprings.
Those were not last call but Extra Vacations.
The term Snowbird is used to describe people from the U.S. Northeast,
U.S. Midwest, or Canada who spend a large portion of winter in warmer
locales such as Arizona, California, Florida, the Carolinas, or elsewhere
along the Sun Belt region of the southern and southwest United States

It`s a long drive for seniors traveling back and forth from Canada to Florida
so a great place to stop off for a week each way is in Williamsburg Virginia

A visit to Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown Settlement even in winter
will suit both the history lovers and the adventure seekers in any family

As for week 6 - Virginia is for Lovers - Many couples get married on Feb 14
St. Valentines Day and Williamsburg is a great place for an anniversary trip
(especially with so many couple living in MD and DC just a day trip away)

Based on what I've been seeing, I would totally expect this and unless I absolutely positively had to have that checkin day at that particular resort I'd wait until the 30 day window in that area. I'm sorry it took you by surprise.

Lawren makes a good about Last Call for that, too.

        Another thing to consider

This does not apply to the last-minute situations, but it might apply to differences across years...

RCI changed the amount they will offer in trading power for some exchanges as well. My exchanges that had originally been offered only 22 TP are now being offered 29 TP.

I would imagine that if I exchanged any of these in at 29, RCI would certainly "charge" 29 to exchange them with someone else. However, if I had exchanged them in at 22 (or 24 which was the 100% value) then RCI would be charging that.

So, perhaps the ones you see that have a higher value were simply exchanged in after RCI offered a different value for them?

The New Weeks Trading Power Values Program

Trading Power Values (on some resorts) have been fluctuating dramamatically this past month!

Ok, I could swear I posted a response to another post here, but don't see it. Is it possible to check if something was accidentally hard deleted?

Supply and demand fluctuate. That is normal and is a strength of the system.

However if at the very same time RCI is awarding a different number of points lite for a deposit of a particular week from what it is charging someone to exchange into the very same week, then something is definitely rotten in the state of RCI. If they are awarding more than they are charging, then there is some obvious cronyism with the developer or management company. If they are charging more than they are awarding they are shortchanging that resort and its owners and they should be all over RCI about it.

It's not necessarily "stupid." There is a discount for 2012 because demand is lower so far ahead and likelihood of multiple exchange/insurance/cancelation fees is better. But owners are (or should be) still getting max tpu and not getting penalized for depositing ahead - will continue to play with the deposit calculator. I noticed that ski weeks for 12-13 months out have just jumped up in necessary tpu to trade in. So you get a discount if you can commit two years out. Most people can't. It's the other side of the last minute gamble.
