Not to be outdone by II's recent acquisition, Wyndham has purchased a large player in the Mediterranean rental business for $77 million!

It's more evident than ever that rentals is the growth area in the future!

The acquisition of James Villa Holidays is consistent with our strategy to invest in fee-for-service businesses and represents another step forward in our strategic plan to grow our presence and leadership position within the global vacation rentals market," Wyndham Chairman and CEO Stephen P. Holmes said in a statement.

In October, Wyndham reported that its third-quarter net income soared 50 percent, as consumers spent more on hotels and rented timeshare units.

Interesting, I though used to be the Wyndham is try to avoid really own anything. Not sure if James Villa Holidays actually own the rights of those properties or just manage right is in this deal.

Interesting that they seem to be renting houses in Florida that are in upscale subdivisions.
