I think I would be getting less this year if I deposited everything in RCI.
So far this year I have only deposited one unit for 2012. I am renting some units but that takes more work than depositing.
There was one that I deposited in II that I should have deposited into RCI. I would have received 27 in RCI. I had never deposited it in II so I thought I would give it a go. It is pretty much a stinker in II and only good in flex change. Even then I can't trade up in size very well. Next year it will definitely go to RCI.

We have deposited 117 in the past. We have 6 to deposit, and none for 2013 will be going to RCI.
Why would we?RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

We bicker about what is a fair trade. Some can get more than they used to; some can't get any of what they used to.
But, when an area now is:
FL - Southern Gulf Coast [229]
when it used to be 600-ish, and nothing at all is available during peak time, January-March, what difference does it make what a fair trade is?
As my brother would say, it's a mute point.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

Nothing for Ft. Myers Beach, Marco Island or Sanibel/Captiva for Jan-Mar
There are some lesser RCI resorts for other months, so that suggests they are not getting the good stuff and the peak-season stuff any more, which has always been the speculation, somewhat confirmed from inside.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

Jim has documented his searchs for years, so this is NOT a memory issue.
Dramatic changes like that would not be a normal functioning of the system. It would flow from an arbitrary thumb on the scales.
It is more likely that owners are just not giving them to RCI anymore, but are renting them, using them, or givinig them to other exchange companies.
My summer OBX week rents easily for a nice profit, so while living in Europe that is what I do with it. When I move back to the states eventually, I will use it.
My summer UK weeks, which are at a resort that often has no availibility online any time of year at RCI as it has does a strong supply/demand curve but is not given an adequate number of points lite to represent that, are going to other exchange companies. I hoped to use one myself this summer, but the timing did not work out. I traded one of them, a 1BR, through SFX recently for a 2BR in London, a very difficult trade that I could not have come close to doing one for one with RCI. I will shortly give another to UKRE, which will give me 2 for 1 credits for it. Both are much better deals than I could have gotten with Points Lite at RCI.
With RCI, most of the overpointed weeks are in overbuilt areas where there is a glut of inventory while most underpointed weeks are in sold out resorts in hard to trade into areas. It makes sense for the former to play RCI roulette, but it does not make sense for owners of the latter to do so.

Not even a freakin' smilie.
I've got nothing to defend or prove to anyone, especially those who were not there.

The facts are that when I search the same area and timeframe we traded for two or three weeks for 20 years, 1991-2011, now all I see are non-timeshare rentals for $1600-$2100 a week.
No one will disagree with that, as the exchanges are very, very, very, few and very, very, very far between.
So, as stated previously, trading for anything with any number of deposits, is moot/mute.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick
