  • I got to say what I've been wanting to say.

I wanted an exchange, but it was 1 point more than my best deposit.

I called and asked them to give it to me for one point less than they were asking. She said no . . . then . . . of course . . . she said, "You know what you can do? . . . " and I said "No, I cannot give you $109 more dollars to do the same thing I've done 120 times in 23 years."

Sure, give them $109 for the privilege of giving them $199? Really?

On top of that, it was for a LM trade, that shoulda been 1/2 what they wanted to begin with.

I was not pleasant, and can't think of a good reason why I should be, since companies make decisions based on feedback from customers.

To that she said, "Let me check with my . . . no, I know I can't do that ."

So, if I company is willing to let one freaking phony point stand in the way of satisfying a customer of 23 years, they need to rethink their bizmodel.

I mean, any more, how many people do business with the same company for 23 years any more?

      Crazy isn't it?

Quite a few years ago DISH lost me because they wanted to charge a bazillion $ to add a TV to my house. DirecTV was the beneficiary of that conversation.

As to which companies I have kept a relationship with for over 20 years? That would be my local phone company although they have had at least 5 names since 1984.

Back to the evil empire; your favorite area has been extremely stagnant the last week or so....just sayin'.

Until two hours ago, and it took me an hour to get my buddy or his wife to answer one of their three phones or look at their email, so he could take what I saw, to go with the other week he already has, so they can come be with us for a couple of weeks.

We've been saying this for how long now (?), that if you don't check online every few hours, you're screwed.
        - - - - -
I just checked, and it's gone, so they musta taken it.

It was Sea Oats in Englewood for New Year's Week, for 18. See, that's 10-20 less than everything else has been, and ya gotta be paying attention, checking, and know your stuff, to get those.

Now it can be stagnant again.

FWIW, it has always been stagnant, without much turnover, for the 15 years I've watched it. You know that.

        just sayin'

The more I think about, the more this grates on me.

I am in front of customers 8 hours a day and my company empowers me to make whatever on-the-spot decision I need to make to satisfy a customer. The only ones who leave unhappy are the ones who arrived intending to leave unhappy.

When I arrived at RCI today, I was intending to leave with an exchange, and let them have my $199, or whatever it is when you have to call a Guide (and there's a title we need to find another name for!!!).

Why should they give a rip who they get the $199 from, or, if they did give a rip, shouldn't it be in favor of your best customers?

          All over one freaking point!

          It's insane.

          • I don't see that I ever said it in this thread, but I have elsewhere. Something like the last 26 exchanges we did before the adulteration, with one deposit of course, we now can no longer get with one deposit.

I wonder how that would play out with this:

With the new Exchange Planner you will be able to see the Exchange Trading Power that has historically been needed to Exchange into a given region. Simply log-in to RCI.com and click on Exchange Planner. You can then type in the area and time period, and the Exchange Planner will show you the historic Exchange Trading Power that has been required for your particular search.

Yeah, I've been looking at the same Zero for Southern Gulf and the same 3 for Northern Gulf for as long as I can remember. It always has been stagnant rather than the constantly-churning nature some lead us to believe. And like so many times before, an online search turns up what, supposedly, jillions are looking for.

My buddy didn't even say thanks for finding him the week to go with his other week at the same resort. But I'm used to that.

It was what would have been a settlefor up until 6 years ago, but that we have lowered our expectations enough to covet.

              Boil a bullfrog theory, again.

Now the same stuff that I wanted has been discounted to 5-7.
