No, I think it's 30, and then you have some time cancel it after you buy it (maybe 14?).

Yup, 14 days to cancel after purchase.

Thank you for visiting RCI.com. You have successfully purchased RCI Vacation Protection on 09/23/2010.

If you wish to cancel Vacation Protection, please call RCI at 1-800-338-7777 within 14 days of purchase.

If this is an old exchange, there is a grace period offer right now allowing you to buy insurance until Dec. 17. I believe RCI sent an email about this.

And check your email and account carefully if you buy it - I have had more than one instance when I thought I purchased it on the phone but it never showed up. There was also a period last year where my account showed insurance on a week but RCI had no record of it on their end. That seems to have been cleared up.

$69 per week, I just buy three yesterday. RCI transferred me to a special unit to handle.

I asked, but they can't tell me what is PT for those weeks since the exchanges were booked before the enhancement.

You might want to call back in a day or two (after the insurance purchase is clearly on your weeks) and ask again. I called twice and both times the rep was able to tell me what I would get if I cancelled the week (gave same numebr too!) and the exchange was booked before the enhancement. I think someone else reported the same thing - the rep was able to tell them what they would get if they cancelled.

Was the amount higher than the highest amount your week can currently be deposited for?

Without insurance your week drops in points

I called RCI and asked about cancelling a really prime holiday exchange, one that would fly off the shelves. They informed me that I would lose the 179 exchange fee and the value of my replacement week would drop from 18 to 11 points. So the insurance protects the value of the exchange power as well as the refund of the exchange fee.
