  • Has Anyone Done a LM Switch Under the New Program?

Something we have done a few times, cancel an exchange and re-confirm another resort with the same deposit at the Last Minute.

Anyone do that under the new program, and how was it handled?

For instance, to see if you have the TPUs to switch, do they go by the "late deposit" TPUs of the deposit you used originally, or the "late deposit" TPUs of the exchange week you cancel?

& do you get a carry-over credit if there is an excess?

If you have the insurance, you will get the full TPUs back plus the exchange fee.
Yes, I have had to cancel an exchange since the new system is in place - an exchange I made in Oct 2009 - I got the exchange fee of $164 plus full TPUs as currently listed for the week.
I called and talked to a guide as the number of TPUs was not showing on the exchange (because it was a week to week exchange) we agreed on the number I would get so I hit the cancel number and immediately had the TPUs in my account.

Going forward if I had to cancel I would just do it online as new exchanges show u exactly how many TPUs you have used to get the exchange.

      Yes, I got change back.

      I am happy!

There is really no more "deposit" per say - just a number of points associated with what u deposited - which you can use to immediately confirm the new exchange u want to do.

No, if u have insurance, what they will give u back is what u would have gotten when u deposited - so if u deposited at 1 year out, you would get full credit.

I do not know what will happen if u do not have insurance - no way to know how they will value your week in TPUs.
Going forward, you will know how many points u used so will be able to know if they will "penalize" your deposit by giving back less points.

It is a little tricky because you did not have a value associated with the deposit at the time it was made.

          Wondering without insurance.

It appears the TPUs for a late deposit (if that is what it will be considered when you cancel the exchange) is generally higher than what LM exchanges are running.

So, for another exchange fee you can gain TPU's. (?)

Actually, what is the late deposit is the exchange week you are cancelling, so does it go by that one, even though I did not own it to deposit it?

(The deposit you used to get the first exchange is not what is going back into the Spacebank.)

I am afraid that you will actually have to pick up the phone and ASK them what u would get back - let us know how u make out.

After "the change", RCI was offering to let you buy vacation insurance retroactively. I don't know for sure when the offer is due to expire, or it may have expired already.
