Reserve Underlying Points Week and Then Deposit It Into RCI Weeks?

I read somewhere that if I reserve the week underlying an RCI points converted week, that I can not then deposit that week into RCI Weeks for exchange. They won't accept it. Is this true?

That is correct. When you enter into an RCI points agreement, you've generally assigned usage of that week to them. However, you do have 31 days (home week period) 13 months prior to check-in to choose to reserve use of that week yourself and not take the points assignment for that year. This applies to fixed weeks only. You don't have that option for floating weeks.
