  • Be careful what you ask for

I got a deposit confirmation for a week and there was a 1
point discrepancy between what it says I should have received and what
I did get. I wasn't sure it was even worth bringing it up for 1 point, but I decided to send an email to feedback @ rci.

I got a response back today from RCI saying they have fixed my week
and added 1 point to my TPU. HOWEVER, they combined my original week,
exp. 12/31/2013 with 1 point and my combined week expires 01/31/2013!
I lost 11 months. Needless to say, I have re-emailed feedback. If
anyone else has had points added, make sure you did not lose any
    months in the process.

It seems they SHOULD have given you back your 1 point but NOT combine it without your permission (especially since it cost $99 to do it)
They probably thought they were doing you a favor by adding the point and not charging you the fee.

I agree you should call/email back and have them 'un-do' it.

I also have an orphan 1 point in my account but I will wait until I have a collection of orphans to combine when the expiration dates are approaching.

Ah yes, the cardinal rule. Never call RCI and ask a real person to do something with your account.

I was just thinking a similar thought. It is always in their favor.

I had something similar with two weeks. To adjust the trade power back to its proper level, they need to create a separate line and combine, then adjust the end date. For mine, they adjusted one end date, but not the other. When I pointed it out, they fixed it right away.

But yes...email through feedback@rci is vastly better than calling.

Emailing worked - they fixed it within 2 days. Not a bad response time.
