RCI Weeks Cancellation under the new system

I made an exchange under the new weeks system and purchased the insurance. It looks like that I may need to cancel it. Do I get my original trade points and the original time frame back?

Yes. You also get the exchange fee credited back to your acct. and the credit needs to be used within 6 months of the date you cancel ... so unless you know for sure you'll be using the credit soon, cancel as close to check in day as you can to extend the 6 months out as far as you can. I have cancelled within a week of check in - no issues at all.

Also, if you had "change back", the "change" will automatically be re-combined with the trade power units spent on the exchange, without an additional fee. This per an email from RCI feedback.

From that perspective, I agree. However there may be others who would love to pick up your week if you can't use it, but many won't be able to do so with only one week's notice.
