Wyndham Glacier Canyon / RCI

Hi. I'm new to this. I deposited a Royal Aloha Vacation Club week with RCI in hopes of getting this Wisconsin Dells resort in early August. There isn't a single week for this resort with RCI for 2011 even though they have it in their list of resorts. Why is that? They say they've had weeks in the past.

If anyone plans to deposit this resort into RCI and if you aren't particular about the calendar week, please put in Aug 13, 2011.

Anyone have any ideas on the lack of availability within RCI?

All of the newer wyndham resorts are sold as UDI points. So even if an owner from Glacier Canyon deposits points in RCI, wyndham chooses what weeks to deposit. Wyndham bulk deposits at most resorts and you may have already missed the deposits from GC. It wouldn't hurt to set up an ongoing search and next year you might want to request it earlier or look into trading through an indepenent trading company.

August has already come and gone. I'm afraid you've missed it for 2011. What's more, this resort is relatively rarely deposited compared to Tamarack, the other Wyndham resort in the Dells area.

This is one reason people don't exchange, they feel they can make a bit of money by advertizing on sites like this (Redweek). As you can see people are asking for between $1,000 and $1,875 for Glacier in July and August.

I think this is one of those moments, when I am glad I have Wyndham points
ownership.....
Called last week and was able to get 7 nights in April, ch in 24th,
I believ it is Easter Sunday!

Other wise I will post about Wyndam today,
how untrustworthy they are.
Have a bone to pick with them.

If you go to the Wyndham Owner's Forum, you might be able to find a Wyn owner who will reserve the week you're looking for and rent it to you for less than $1,875. How much less I don't know.

You might try this

You could also look in Craigslist postings for rentals. I see alot of rental offers in the minneapolis/st. paul postings all the time. You might call one of the posters and ask them if they have the week you want reserved already. Many of these posters own millions of points and book them far in advance, then sell the reservation. I checked the Wyndham site; there are no units available for owner rentals until Aug. 26.

Thanks everyone for the information. I have rented weeks/weekends from owners before which is a great deal. I was just hoping to use my RAVC week in exchange. I'll have to find an alternate RCI property to visit. I just know we love that resort and it isn't too far from home in Chi-town so I hadn't looked any further.
