  • Best timing to combine RCI weeks

Those that have done this more than I have....... what is the best time to combine weeks so that I can have the greatest amount of time to use them.... and to get the resorts that I can not see.
This is what is in deposit.

June 2010 this is an ongoing search. Can I stop the search to combine and then start it again?

    June 2011
    June 2012

    Thanks

June 2010 (expires 6/12) this is an ongoing search. Can I stop the search to combine and then start it again?

    June 2011 -expires 6/13
    June 2012 - expires 6/14

    Thanks
First thing to know - when you combine, you have two years to use the points.
Second - if you combine everything and then do an ongoing search, this ties up ALL the points

So yes, you can cancel the search, combine 10 and 11 but the resulting combo would expire Feb 2013 so you would have extended the life of the first deposit but shortened the life of the second.

And yes, you can combine all three for one $99 fee but all the points would expire Feb 2013 really shortening the 6/12 deposit.

On the other hand, if you think/know that you will use all/most of the points before Feb 2013, it would not be a bad thing.
The catch is if you want to continue the ongoing search....by combining all, it ties up all.
And if you end up confirming something else with your points before the search request is filled, I assume that would then cancel out your search and would put you to the "back of the line" if/when u reinstitute the search???

I think the "combo" thing would work the best if you have 2 2010 deposits and 2 2011 deposits (basically multiple deposits with similar use times) that when combined could extend the life of all of them.

HTH, but I am not sure it did!
