  • $$$ Per Point

Now that there is no more Weeks, how about a discussion conecrning the price of TPU's, given the caveat that the only certainty with RCI is uncertainty.

Divide your 2011 annual fee by the number of points it gives you.

Ours: $17 per point, $23 per point, $23 per point, $28 per point, $45 per point, $78 per point,

I can imagine that if someone made a table up for this by timeshare that RCI would be horrified (they like non-disclosure). It would make a nice reference paper for deciding what RCI affiliated timeshares are most worthless.

And to it could taken one step further and look at points per week. At one of the resorts where I own, my July 4 week is worth less than a week 29 for TPU. RCI apparently has no rhyme or reason behind there values. One would think July 4 week would have more calue than a week later in July or one the beginning of August.

One would certainly think that if a system were based on supply and demand, but we already know that any correlation between supply and demand and RCI's points lite is coincidental.

So far, I'm seeing a trend.

In trying to guess what "average" might be, I've been hearing 20-ish is an average value, and if you use $600/year as an average fee, that's $30 per point. Our one that's closest to that 22/$625 is $28 per point.

              Does that seem about right?

$8.51, 17.92, 15.00, 12.23, 24.04 - that last high number usually goes to II and is a GREAT trader with a Maint Fee of $312.50 for a 1BR - and is not a good value obviously with RCI.

Mines a 2 bedroom lockout, each 1 bedroom unit is assigned 19 TPU's, for a total of 38 TPU's. Maintenance fee is around $680 so it's close to $18 per point.

My converted motel week on the beach is 20 to 21 TPU's.
                    MF's are $450 so $22.50 a point.
Not great in points but good enough to get into DVC on a LM gig.
I think I do better in RCI points with it though. 38K points.
