You have to have a minimum of $179 on credit/account to start an ongoing search. It can come from paying it, or perhaps a credit from a cancelled exchange. Once you have at least $179 on account then you do not have to pay to start subsequent searches. In other words, you pay $179 once and can start as many ongoing searches as you can/want to.
If you use up the $179 for any reason, you searches continue, but to start another new search, you have to pay or have $179 credited again.
Hope this helps you.

Please excuse me, I'm a Dick. Not a moron just a Dick
That pretty much happened to us. We had paid for an Ongoing Search, used the credit for an exchange, and they did not ask for more money for the Ongoing Search.
Then, recently I heard that you can start an Ongoing Search via a Guide without having to pay. Online still takes money. So heard.
That's what I'm trying to confirm.
