  • Exchange questtion

OK another quick question if anyone can answer ..I know u can exchange thru RCI for another resort but what if we didnt want to use RCI...I kinda remember in the presentation we can exchange for something in the states thru Wyndham or Fairfield and it would be cheaper fee or no fee...If anyone can refresh my mind on this matter..

So pretty much if I didnt want to use RCI how could I exchange within the U.S..

Can we split weeks up ..like for instance if we wanted to use our week 2 days here and 5 days somewhere else is this possible

    Trading

Your eoy Grandview week is a week, not points right?
Then your exchange options are RCI or one of the independents. No, you can't use 2 days here then 5 days there like some of the point systems.

No, unless this is Wyndham points you can't trade through them.

    fwiw,

    Greg

I'm curious as to why anyone would talk about Wyndham fka Fairfield in a sales presentation, if it is not a Wyndham (Fairfield) resort? Or is it?

Edit: I googled it and see it's a Vacation Village resort, right?

I see their website says they offer fixed, floating and RCI Points, and the Points explanation says:

RCI Points - With RCI Points you have the flexibility to choose how many days you want to stay or where you want to stay. You can use RCI Points to book airlines, hotel stays, rent a car or book a cruise, and more through RCI’s Points Partner Program.

The next section talks about it being a real estate asset, so . . . .

You can stay for less than a week on any bonus or exchange, but you can't utilize either for more than one stay, does that answer your questions? Greg

You might want to join some of the independent exchange companies.

They may take your week. Some of the free ones to check out is DAElive, SFX, Platinum Interchange. You could also rent bonus weeks from these companies as well as from Trading Places.

With Grandview since it's a dailymanagement resort you have a homegroup preference in RCI where you can exchange ahead of the line with other RCI members for hard to get dates like Christmas or Spring Break.

You could also get last minute bonus weeks thru RCI for less than $300 a week that you could use part of the week and just let the rest of the nights sit empty or share it with someone else.
I often do this when going to Orlando as it's still cheaper sometimes to rent the whole week for say $249 and stay for only 4 nights.
Sure beats motel prices in dumpy places.

You could in essence do the same thing with RCI if you get enough TPU's (Trade power units) for your week. Do you know how many TPU's you get for your week?

Shorter than that. Something's wrong related to your resort confirming the deposit.

There used to be Weekend Escapes, Friday night to Monday morning, like 15 years ago.

Hey, there's always room in Weston.

It took about 3 weeks for my week to show up as available to exchange but if you give us your week and unit we can look it up. For that matter you can look it up yourself when you get your account up and running. If it's not up yet, I'd be happy to check it for you.

There have always been problems with calling RCI . . . using a Guide . . . . cuz things like this tend to happen more often than they should. That's why you should at least be registered online . . . rci.com . . . so you can at least watch what is being done in real time.

Guides tend to go ahead and do stuff before they actually listen to your request, even for veteran rci subscribers. Guides are sorta at the bottom of the information chain, so they are limited in what they can and cannot do. There has always been the speculation that they get paid based on what they "sell", and in this example, depositing a week does not produce income, whereas confirming an exchange does.

Now you should drop an email to feedback@ rci. (com) (separated to prevent harvesting, but put the com where it's supposed to be) You should also call and ask to talk to Customer Service, bearing in mind you already know what can happen when you rely on a call.

Before calling I would suggest you register on rci.com, if you are not already, so you can confirm whatever they say they do.
