  • RCI points--fuzzy math

I own at points resort in which I get 82K points every June 1. I also do points for deposit and buy points that I transfer into my account.

In Dec. 2010 I made an exchange for Oct. 2011. I was short on points and borrowed 36,930 points from my use year that starts June 1, 2011. That should leave me with a balance of 45,070 for June 1, 2011.

I did no more transaction until a few weeks ago.

A few weeks ago I bought and transfered in 93K points. That same day I made two more exchanges which totaled 92,500. One was for 54,500 and the other 38,000. That should have given me another 500 points left.

According to my math, I should have 45,570 points. 82,000-36,930+500=45,570. The automated system at RCI says I have 9,770 for 2012. After being on hold for 35 mintues today, the RCI guide could not figure it out and she put me on hold to find her supervisor. I was disconnected after that. I did not have the time to call back and be on hold again for so long.

Any ideas what I should do? TIA

Your math might not be quite right because there are a few factors you may not have considered. For the points that you bought, when were the use years of the points of the person who transferred them to you. If it was different then it is possible the 93K points were put in your 2012-2013 use year. Also, depending on the dates of the two exchanges you made, points my have been deducted from your 2012 or 2013 use year.

The two exchanges that I just got are for June 2011. The 93K points I bought went into my June 1, 2011 use year. I guess I will try to call RCI again tomorrow when I have time to be on hold for a while. Hopefully, I won't get disconnected again.
