  • RCI site that bad?!?

Hello all, we finally got t/s squared away and have started clicking around the RCI website. So far it seems pretty disappointing, but we are brand new to this so it could be the user and not the system. I have a couple of questions (again bare with me as we are new at this). Is it impossible to get into a DVC resort? I have little ones and would at some point like them to experience that. So far the selection in Anaheim and Orlando is pretty slim, in both weeks and points. Is there a better way to do this search? How can we better our chances of finding something we would like? Thank you in advance for any help you all can offer.

Not going to find much DVC at RCI. Have you tried ebay rentals?

you need to get them while you can....

You just missed a big points bulk deposits on Disney about 8 weeks ago. They go quick so you need to grab them while you can.

There was a very big weeks bulk deposit 3 weeks ago. I don't think there is anything left. But you can check the post by BNoble in the RCI Exchange Opportunities part of the forum.

Hi and welcome to the forum.

It's not impossible to get DVC.
Tell us what you own and we'll have a better idea of how you can get what you want. You're probably not going to see Disneyland, CA resort any time soon in RCI as it's a small resort with few units to begin with, you're better off watching for Disney World.
Depending on what you own will depend on how you'd want to get into DVC. Hopefully you don't own a unit in Orlando or you're blocked from DVC.

I do not own in orlando so we are safe there. We own in Ft Lauderdale, but prior to our purchasing it, it was already converted into about 87k points. We have access to both the weeks and points system.

There was a big deposit in the weeks side yesterday.
Something like 100 units went in so I'd get shopping if I were you.

I didn't check the points side so not sure what was there but if you stick around the forum and do a review of a resort that you've been to, then you can see the exchange opportunity sightings here that some of our members post.

That's your best shot for keeping up with Disney deposits.

Good luck on getting into the Mouse's House.

I saw a few 2 bedroom units this morning, August weeks I believe. I was not looking for anything specific, but do remember DV Beach Villas, Saratogo Springs and Old Key West.

This is not at all true. I post the Orlando-area sightings whenever something interesting comes up, and have been since they switched to RCI 2+ years ago.

T-3: you may have a trade power issue. In Weeks, you need a deposit worth at least 25 TPU to make the exchange. In Points, you just need a boatload of points, but they can be had.

Thanks for the response, we actually found several units so it is not a trade power issue after all. Thank you for taking the time to respond. I will keep watching for your Orlando updates.
