Ignorance Was Bliss

It occurs to me that for those who are/were hanging on the fence about RCI, when they couldn't see everything, there was hope.

Now that they can see all the stuff they will never be able to get, that may run a few more off.

For many, they can also see things they used to be able to get one for one, but now cannot due to RCI moving the goalposts. That should run others off.

We were glazed and amazed our first five or so years, when everything we knew about what we doing, where we could go, etc., came from the lips of a Guide. It encouraged us to buy more, go more, and we did.

We didn't know what we couldn't do.

Then, at our ten year mark, I found internet forums, and we took a bite from the apple. We found out how the other half lived.

Which was better?

Both. The happy times when we did not know what we could not get and the times when we could get everything anyone could.

From 2004 on, there has been nothing to encourage buying or doing more.

And there are some of us who never could see anything and had no clue why, and opted for RCI points so we could see something worthwhile.

Now even though it might cost us a few bucks more we can actually go somewhere that we want to go.

Today is like the Good Ole Days . . . we cannot see what we cannot get.
