Should they try a deposit fee to destroy the weeks program, the point people should also be very concerned, for they will need to increase revenues there to keep revenues from dropping off noticeably.

Seriously, thiis is parallel to the one thing savvy T/S people are opposed to, upfront fees in selling. Now, if RCI is trying to plant the subliminal seeds of "fee for deposit" for exchanging, I'd rather let my RCI units sit empty. Better yet, I'd get my HOA involved and switch to II, SFX, DAE, etc.

They can do whatever they want, as they have proven.
If they institute a deposit fee that doesn't offset the exchange fee at all, I won't deposit again. I'll be fully in DAE. AND, I will complain loudly to my resorts in order the II be the exchange co of choice.
Avery:Actually, it's a logical next step. They are undoubtedly refunding more exchange fees since exchange inventory is so much less than it used to be, so why not clip us on the front end for nothing?

Not sure I get your meaning. I don't think they've been refunding exchange fees (AT ALL). How would there be an exchange fee to return if exchange inventory is less than it used to be? BUT, yes, I think *clipping us on the front end" would be another brilliant way to piss off the membership, so, sure, expect to see it!!

All we can do is getting our HOA involved and get them to deal with more exchange companies or use other means of exchanging like a direct exchange or rent your week and rent someone else's week somewhere else.
We all know that the week-based system is going to be doomed because Cendant and most big developers are selling points and they are even easier to be manipulated in their favor. I really wonder how Marriott is going to handle their dilemma in the future?
