  • Nightly stays through RCI

Not sure if this should be posted here, or in the RCI forum however since I am looking through the BlueGreen / RCI portal right now it is going here!

    Just wondering if any body can tell me what the chances are of getting into either of these two resorts;

    Tamarack Club (#A494)
    Peek'n Peak's Greenwood Forest (#4069)

I see stuff on the weeks side, but nothing in nightly stays.

These are both within driving distance to me, and appear to be nice places. Hoping that I can perhaps turn these into some nice weekend vacations

I am going to move this to the RCI board as this is really a question about whether these resorts are IN RCI Points -or are they only weeks resorts.

Or, could they be asking if RCI offers them as nightly rentals, which they have at selected resorts for many years?

The fact that they are shown for nightly is likely the answer, but you could call or email rci.

Thanks Pat, guess I should have gone with my first instincts!

Not really looking to rent these seperate from my BlueGreen / SVC points JLB so need to know if they are ever made available as nightly stays and not weekly. Not looking for rentals.

No Jim, "Nightly Stays" is what Bluegreen calls our "RCI Points" account - so not every resort is availble thru weeks AND points - some are points only and some are weeks only and the RCI experts here (not me!) know which is which.

Neither are in RCI points, so they shouldn't be available as nightly stays. You can look at RCI.com and without logging in click on the Resorts Directory tab.
When you do the list view of the resorts it will indicate RCI Points if it is in points

Thanks, that will answer any future questions of this nature as well! Shame because would have loved to go to both those resort. Maybe I will get lucky and they will switch over at some point in time.

On the other hand, if the trade is favorable, I believe you can trade for 4 days and still make it.

So, look at the exchange ratio, define what your cost will be, and if it is acceptable for 4 day+, you can still try to take advantage of that.

I am not sure I understand what you mean? Are you meaning book on the weeks side and only use 4 days as I have done with BlueGreens "Hot Weeks"?

You should/could start checking the "Hot Weeks" thru Travelers Plus....all exchanges cost 3,000 BGVC pts. and no exchange fee - I beleive the inventory is within 10 days...but you can see if you see those particular resorts showing up at all....will give u an idea of availability.

                        Yes.

There are a lot of resorts around your area that are in week side or start in the week side, so even if some newer one move the resort to RCI point label, they usually deposit into RCI week side. Basically, it is upto you to decide if you want waste a few days to get them.

If BG provide you a last min deposit type of deal that let you deposit a stdio and get any RCI 45 days or less (or trading power lower than say 10) than there are a lot of time slots and units that are very good for the local to just take 1 or 2 extra day off for a min vacation, especially if you are looking at 2 BD.

I believe you can managed to get something less than 300 including RCI exchange fee. 4 nights will be less than $75 and it is decent deal against a 2 BD hotel that need to add in the local tax.

Currently, BG does NOT give discounted stays at 45 or 30 days.
We have a strict crossover grid based on unit size and season.

So the best/only bet would be thru a BG/RCI product called Hot Weeks that cost 3,000 BGVC points regardless of unit size.
Downside is they are only 10 days out from check-in.

BG owners do not deposit points into RCI like Wyndham still can.

Yes, that is what he means but he does not realize that our BG points do not have a "last minute" points discount as other ownerships do.
If a RCI trade that normally costs 20 TPUs(trading units) is discounted to 5 TPUs 3 weeks before check-in, it becomes a bargain and even if u only use 4 nights, it is a good deal.

BGs version of this is currently "Hot Weeks" - but I would like to see 30/45 day discounts given in the future to us as other owners now enjoy.

                            Confusing, huh!

Thanks guys for the clarification. Having both BG and SVC I see the differences. My SVC has this where within 30 days I can get RCI weeks for 700 points plus the exchange fee. Normally these would be 3 to 4 thousand or more.

I love the resort hot weeks, and check this daily. I have often been tempted to take some time off, and not know where I am going just to take advantage of this. We went to Collingwood for just 2 nights and this was still a great deal. Not having to get up early on the Sunday to check out was great!

As of yet neither of these 2 have been on hot weeks, but maybe I'll keep my eye out on SVC for this. Although with most stuff being for 2012 right now I won't hold my breath!
