Buying RCI Points

I hope this is not a stupid question. If I wanted to go out and open an account with RCI and buy a membership, can I go out on ebay and buy RCI points only? Or would I have to own a week and pay maintenence fees to get the points?

The points only auctioins are only good for people who already own at an RCI points resort so they're worthless to you. In answer to your question, you need to buy a deed that is worth X amount of RCI points.

If you don't want to make a big committment to RCI points you could pick up a triennial unit that would give you a small package like say 25K points a year and then you could rent additional points as needed either from RCI directly or transfered from another points owner.

I own a triennial unit that I get alot of mileage out of. If you travel off season and lastminute you could do well with just a small 25K triennial unit. It you need to follow the school calendar then forget it. 25K won't get you much.

It's not ignorance at all.
It's just that RCI doesn't make it easy.
You gotta figure it out and that's why we're here to help.
