  • AKV through DVC unit types

I am not sure if this can even be done, or if I will have to call RCI when something becomes available. However if somebody could answer this it would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any way when units become available that I can tell if they are Savanah or not? I realize there are not a lot for this resort but am very specific about getting one of these types of units. Will the only way for me to find out be to call?

Yes you will need to call. If you are a weeks member they should be able to tell you. However, you need to ask them to read you the Unit description. It looks something like 1BSTDSU. The first two characters tell you the unit size, the second three the view, and the last two the check-in day. STD stands for standard view and SAV stands for savanna view. When I called and asked if they could tell me the view I was told savanna because the resort description (which she read to me) mentions the savanna; the unit description said standard, so be sure to ask for unit description. I have heard though that RCI trades are always standard view; I don't know if that is true.

In Weeks, you can put the unit on hold, and then start the first step of releasing it. That screen gives you the unit code. There is at least one documented case of a SAV unit being assigned to a Standard view, so it's still not a guarantee, but most of the time you get the view to which your unit is assigned.
