Since we paid $229 for 3 years on 10/2, I called today, since this thread got bumped back up today.

I was told $229. When I asked what happened to the 3 for 2 deal, he said that was only for owners at certain resorts.

So he heard my what has BigFrank done for RCI that I haven't done speech. Has he paid yours dues for 20 years? Has he given you 95 weeks? What's a guy gotta do to get a break?

Still 3 for $229, no refund.

BTW, is it possible to show the date of the OP of each thread on the listing on New Posts?

I had to use a Guide to confirm an exchange today.

At the end he offered my a five-year renewal at what he said was the price of emmbership when we started almost 20 years ago.

        $69 per year.

That doesn't seem right, that it was that high that long ago, seeing as I just renew last month for $76/year.

In case anyone has lost track (I had), the domestic exchange fee is $164.

I just logged in to my account, and a 5-year renewal is $349; Basically what you were told. Looks like the bargain is over!

I got a call from RCI last night. The offer I got was to roll back the price to what it had been when I first joined. I was offered a 5 year renewal at $59 per year. I was also told I could cancel, with refund, at any time. I took it.

Same words, different price. When did you join?

The catch to the refund is that they have always prorated it at normal price.

It gets sorta confusing, but if you buy five years at $59/year and want a refund after two years, you do not get 3 times $59 ($177) back.

What you get is your total payment ($295) minus 2 times the normal annual fee ($89 ?). That would be $117.

On the refund you lose the discount because you did not keep it the full discount period.

              Make sense?

My RCi expires 02/2007. I started using SFX early this year, and so far, they seem to be yielding better exchanges than I was getting from RCI. Three of my 5 weeks for 2007 are deposited with SFX, and I plan to use the other two direct. I have put a couple of challenging requests for 2007 with SFX, so I'm anxious to see if they can hit it. One is for one specific check-in day at a specific resort 04/2007, and the other is Honolulu for NYE 2007/8.For the $295 vs. $349, I don't plan to renew RCI for a while. Maybe they will reduce the price to get me to re-up after I let it expire for a few months. If not, I don't really care!

I joined back in 1974 or so. I really don't remember what the yearly RCI fee was. Reason I stick with RCI is that I don't think my San Diego Country Estates would do all that well with any of the other trade companies (if they'd even take them). Over the next year I've pulled Las Vegas, La Jolla and two weeks on the Big Island, so I'm pleased right now.

I joined in 1997. It seems every time I deposit a 2BR GC, I only get offered a 1BR GC, or 2BR below a GC. Everyone determines which company works best for their individual needs. That's why there are options.

I think we joined RCI in 1993, when we first bought Villas of Sedona. Our membership expires in, I think, April of 2007. It may have been $295 I was offered. I really didn't pay attention, because I've had excellent results from SFX for my units, and 3 of the 4 also trade through II. Jean
