RCI.COM Will be Unavailable ... (Until Mon, October 17)
RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick
Did they change points? I thought minimum was 3 nights???
Some resorts have a minimum stay, but I don't recall a generic minimum. I've stayed two nights on points before. Never thought it was worth it for one night with all the extra fees.
Have any of you tried to pull up actual availability or tried to book a unit in RCI points?
I had one rather rare property come up and show 32 units available? Most were only one night stays, or at least that is what the system was showing/allowing to be put in for check-out. Did they change points? I thought minimum was 3 nights???
I can not get a date range list of units from points or weeks resorts in RCI points.
This is what I am seeing when I go in thru the RCI/Bluegreen Portal???
The "usual" portal is gone.
Prior to the "enhancement" you logged into the BG owner website, then "Using the Club" then "Making Exchanges" then click on the "Get Started Now"
This took you away from the Bluegreen site to the RCI Portal.
Once there, it gave me the option to exchange in RCI weeks or RCI Nightly Stays (aka points).
There was a fixed BG points chart used. example - 1BR caribbean = 13,000 BGVC Pts.
Now when I log in, I go thru all the steps above and get to the RCI Portal.
But instead of seeing the options as listed above, there is only one option and it says points - but I see weeks (thru Oct 2013) and points exchanges????
And when I check my confirmed exchanges - all that were made thru the "Nightly Stays" option, instead of seeing 13,000 BGVC pts, i am seeing 105,000 points - see the example below.
On the top tab, right hand side of the page in says "My Favorite Searches." When I click that, it then says "You do not have any Favorite Searches." So, how do I get a "favorite search?" It doesn't tell me how to get one, just that I don't have any.
BTW, I do the same search all the time, so I know it's not that RCI is keeping track.

If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.
I really don't like the new RCI Points format. They call it an improvement but I don't.
When you look at the summary page showing all the resorts, it shows all available units - which is a combination of weeks and points inventory. However, when you click on the specific resort, it only brings up 3 months at a time, showing an actual calendar with dates higlighted, so you have to actually select the check-in/check-out date. You don't know size unit. What they did was put literally every available date on there, so you can see all 1, 2, 3,4, etc night stays. You have always been able to book 1 or 2 days but the fees are stupid when you consider the reservation and housekeeping fee. I try and never book less than a full week because of those fees
Most of our RCI trips have been to Carribbean, Mexico and Europe so I have zero interest in anything less than seven days so my initial search was very frustrating showing several great Carribbean resorts for January and February only to find out they were all one night stays, What a waste of time. I then noticed on left side filter allows for 7 or 7+ nights eliminating all those one and 2 night stays. I also used the advanced search feature and am able to search for 60 days at a time rather than 30 days as before in points.
I will keep playing around with this new "enhanced" version of RCI points until I get used to it.
I can't see any difference in weeks side.
I am also now using chrome for RCI searches which so far is much faster than IE which at times didn't work at all.
