  • Difference Extra Vacation and Last Call?

So after 6 short weeks RCI finally got us our membership.

I'm searching the website and I'm actually pretty pleased with what is offered (maybe just because my expectations were so low...)

Anyway, what is the difference between "Extra Vacation" and "Last Call"? Both seems pretty much the same. Also, can points ever be used for last call?

    Thanks,

    Justin

Extra Vacations are non-points -- really just rentals. Last Calls are Extra Vacations that are discounted, so go for $$, not points.

If you look at resort availability in the next 45 days you might find them deeply discounted (for points). For instance, a resort that normally might take 30,000 points you might see under the availability as "7500-30,000 points". The 7500 would be for the equivalent of a last call, but for points. Poke around the sites and you'll see what I mean.

Extra vacations can be purchased far in advance. Last call vacations are the last minute offerings. I've gotten some good deals on last calls. Note that not all ”last minute” bookings are priced at last call prices. For example...June 1st if you see availability for an ocean front unit at Myrtle Beach for July 4th, it won't be at the last call price.
