I don't think it ever has been made clear exactly how searching online works, as far as what you can see.
It would make sense that if someone has put something on Hold, you would not be able to see it. It would also make sense that if someone puts something on Hold after you see search results, that it would still appear to be available, even though it's not, until you refresh the page, or try to put it on Hold yourself.
My take on that is that after tens of thousands of searches, mostly for high demand/low supply inventory, and seeing the same stuff search after search after search after search, the chances of someone taking something you have just opened, before you can make a move, is pretty remote. It is not a repaidly changing mix we are sometimes led to believe.
But if they did, it should disappear when you make a move.
&, if it is Houses @ Summer Bay you are looking for, they always have been pretty scarce.
