On Monday I put a vacation on hold (RCI Points). Tuesday evening I logged in so I could confirm. It said I had one hold, but when I clicked it, I got a funny error message and it said I had nothing on hold. I then decided to click the "confirmed reservations" button to see if my confirmed reservations were showing; they were not. I figured RCI was having website problems so I did a live chat and was told the they were having problems and to call RCI in the morning.
I just called and was told the unit is gone now and there is nothing they could do except put in an ongoing search. I know an going search would be futile as this vacation had a start date of May 20 in a very high demand area and I can't wait because I need to make airline reservations if we were for sure going. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. A few minutes later the same RCI guide tells me they found the week and were in the process of getting back for me. Funny how things happen!
Even though I am grateful I got the exchange back, I am sort of ticked off that RCI charged me an extra $10. for going through an RCI guide. I asked why the fee was $10. higher and he said it was because I was using the phone instead of online. huh? I was forced to call because of their website having problems.
I suppose I could call again. I hate calling RCI. Ten dollars isn't going to break me--it is the principal of the whole thing.
