  • New Look to RCI website!

    What a surprise when I went in to look at the RCI website...what a difference! The look is a lot cleaner with tabs for resort directory, member services, travel services and an answer place, which has the FAQ's.

    Also when you sign in there are more tabs..I don't see any reviews, so I don't know where those went and when I clicked on the name of the resort, that didn't go anywhere either.

    I'm updating the AI in the database and noticed that RCI is not carrying the price of the AI anymore stating "RCI does not participate in the calculation of the pricing schedules nor does RCI receive any benefit from these fees. RCI is not responsible for the quality of the products or services provided by the resort. Therefore, RCI does not offer reimbursement nor adjustment related to any resort fees."

    they also have added a map for plotting locations of various locations such as airports, and area attractions.

    They added Silver and Gold crown icons next to the resorts that come back from a search. I've been waiting a long time for that...

          Bizarre error message

          this is a first. Guess I'll have to wait awhile before seeing the "new" look:

          The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it. Authorization will not help and the request SHOULD NOT be repeated. If the request method was not HEAD and the server wishes to make public why the request has not been fulfilled, it SHOULD describe the reason for the refusal in the entity. This status code is commonly used when the server does not wish to reveal exactly why the request has been refused, or when no other response is applicable.

            RCI needs to fix their issues.

            The username I have always used for points does not work because I have too many characters. I received a new pin to set up a new username but have had no luck. The site is just a mess, kinda like RCI.

              Fatal!

              Just another reason why other exchange companies are looking soooooo much better to us.


              Tell me, why does RCI insist on making these types of site changes in the midst of people's summer vacation planning!

              I'll bet their other sites are working just fine!

                The look of the site is nice, but Thank God we did the database before RCI made this change. Cut and pasting this info would have been a major pain!!

                  Doesn't work with Firefox. I can't believe that they are so clueless as to exclude a major portion of the tekkie population.

                    RCI site

                    After reading the posts regarding the new RCI site, I was very anxious to see it. I also love the new clean look, however, the system is painfully slow. I sent an email reporting the technical difficulties (which also took about 5 minutes to load). I'll let you know what their response is as soon as I receive it. I am sure they are getting quite a bit of feedback at this point.

                      I guess that's why I got the error message I posted above. And I even participated in the pre-launch survey and am almost certain I told them I use Firefox.

                          That is spectacular incompetence no matter how you try to doctor.

                          I guess they never bothered to set up the site at a dummy addess in rci.com, then have some folks try to access and work with the site from outside the firewall.

                          Then, when you look at the reams of problems being reported of all types, and it sure looks as if firewall is only a small component of the problems.

                          And this isn't the first time this kind of thing has happened when they've rolled out a major upgrade to the web site. Last time they did as complete an upgrade as this it took them about six months to get everything fixed, and the head of RCI got canned.

                            Well said...and so true....but then again, we are talking RCI here....it is just the usual blankety blank blank blank "who gives a *** about how it affects RCI customers" attitude and actions.
