It is easy to hop on the bandwagon and complain about RCI. HOWEVER...

The fact is, just as other's have stated, how could you possibly open up a new website during the busy summer months, without testing and retesting this site before implementation.

Each time I log on, the problems are different.

RCI is getting ripped over at tug.

          Looks like no change underneath...

This looks to me like just a slick looking cover to the same old stuff they had before. I see nothing functionally new... Why did they do this? At least the old site worked... This is more than a firewall issue. It looks like a severe lack of bandwidth on their end.

If they could only do some meaningful changes like:

First of all spend just a fraction of the millions and millions of dollars of revenue on a decent web site. What they are waiting for I have no idea in the world. I can't believe they are totally incompetant so it must just be that they will not spend the money needed to do it right. Why they can't see that they would make more money with a well designed, easy to use web site defys all logic.

Create saved searches where you could save the searchs that you do over and over again without having to re-enter all the stuff each time.
What a novel idea... It's only computers we're using and they do know how to save things... It's called hire some programmers.

Cheaper prices to exchange instead of more... We all know these web-based exchanges require no time on any RCI's staff - why in the world should it cost more unless the only purpose is to gouge us "members" (I love how RCI uses that word). I'd have to say that member is a very poor term to describe us.

BoBo, I had the very same opinion of the site for the ten minutes that I finally got into take a look....this is so cosmetic, nothing meaningful or helpful about the "new" site.

As for "member"....in NY, when we lived there, that was a term we heard pretty often, with reference to how someone got screwed...and it sure seems to me with the way RCI is going, fee increases, points transactions costing more points and fees, less and less service, fewer timely exchanges, no less desirable exchanges, and taking away confirmed exchanges, renting weeks on other sites, auctioning off weeks....they are certainly using their members!

              II vs RCI Web Sites

I find it interesting that II's Web Site is able to have a Web Site with very few Bugs and doesn't have to have a lot of down time.

RCI on the other hand, has been just awful.

Even with the input from TUG members, RCI just can not get it right.

They did not improve the function of their Web Site. They only made it look better.

                      RCI has done it again!

They have created a new site as bad as the old one.

It looks new and snazzy but it has the same old problems. Actually, I would like the old site back. At least I could use it.

The site seems to be working now for me. It seems as fast as the old site. I still haven't found one functional improvement though...

Can anyone find anything that makes this site easier, better, faster that the old??? I've looked and looked and looked but don't see anthing there other than a slicker looking interface..

One thing I noticed is my vacation history is not there yet. Vacation plans do seem to be there as long as you remember to hit the "confirmed" button once you're there...

Another thing is when a search you've made is modified, in the past the search areas and dates to search were kept... now you're back to the beginning to re-renter all the info again; great programming!

How hard could it be for RCI to actually hire a programmer or two and implement some of these changes? New slicker looking interfaces are nice, but the root of the issue is making the site more user friendly and workable, so searches and exchanges can be made easier. Saved searches are the one thing that I would want. It would be nice to go in and set up several of these, save them and then when I wanted to search, I wouldn't have to go in and re-enter all the search criterea again and again.

Hey RCI - If we wanted to call, we would call... We don't want to call, that's why we're using the web. RCI seems to want to talk to you so they can try selling you something else. Maybe this is the biggest underlying reason why they haven't truly brought their web site into the new millenium. If the site is too good, you'd never get to talk to them and they couldn't sell you something else. If you think about it, the site really has the functionality like other web sites did back in the late '90s, which in computer time is eons ago.. Get with it RCI. We want a better web site!

What I think is missing is SEARCH features... I might have missed them (which would be a design problem) To look for a resort you have to click on the country, state and area.... you can't just put the resort name or number anywhere?????? please someone tell me this is there somewhere hiding--- being geographically challenged this is a problem

I have been trying to use the SEARCH feature for Points "Standard" reservation on the new website with absolutely nothing coming up for the entire 10 months. I have been using Hawaii and California for my main searches, but have also tried Orlando and Missouri with absolutely nothing coming up. On the old website at least 2 - 10 resorts would come up for Hawaii and California no matter what month I keyed in.

Has anyone with a Points account been able to see any resorts under the "Standard" points Search section?
                              Is it vacation time yet?

If you go under advanced search you could put in a resort number or search the way you are used to
