I have a 2 bedroom lock out but check in was for Oct 13. I could see if they did not rent any time on it yet if I could get it back and do an internal exchange for the week you want if it is available

Thanks Frank. The two bdrm is great! RCI is suppose to get back to me tomorrow. If they can't find me anything, maybe I can rent your TS. Let's wait till tomorrow, and see what, if anything they come up with.

I totally agree that RCI has people who deal with stuff like this. When they did it to me, I got special attention. In fact, I was told, "We have a legal department for people like you."

I hope for you that they get it straightened out. How annoying when you book so far in advance but they wait so long in notifying you that there is a problem and especially when you have to fly to the destination too.

Angela, I'm hoping that RCI does right by you and gets you accommodations. There is nothing available in NOLA on RCI for October. I checked and there is no availability through Wyndham or Bluegreen either.

Me too Lawren. I'm waiting to here from them today. If La Bella Maison was damaged by hurricane Issac, then they waited way too long to notify us. Its just not right! Halloween week is a very popular week in New Orleans, and 2 bdrm timeshares are not easy to get at this late date. I'm willing to take 2-1 bdrms, so we'll see if RCI comes through.

BTW, had I been notified right after the hurricane, I would have been able to place an ongoing search with II for my dates. I would just have made the cut-off. Now, I am restricted to calling every day, and daily searches......II has not been notified of any damage to any timeshare in Nola, by hurricane Issac, according to the person I spoke to yesterday. I do realize that La Bella Maison is not available through II, but it still makes me wonder, if their story is even true?

This is only my third reservation through RCI, and already I'm having problems.

I just heard from RCI, and they have reserved 2-1 bdrms for me at The Quarter House. Yay!

I can't tell you how happy and relieved I am. Not a two bdrm but so much better than having to cancel the trip.

I ranted and raved about RCI canceling on me, last minute, so now its only right that I give them credit for quickly finding me an acceptable alternative. I will say that they did in fact come through.......Just waiting for the confirmation email, to be sure that everything is in order.

That's great, Angela! Now you're all in the same place, and for many adult travelers, two 1 bedrooms are better than one 2 bedroom... even if not ideal for you, at least you don't have to cancel your trip, AND they made it happen fast. Still, I know it's been a stressful few days.

Phew! You're nicer than I would be. Can I just ask, did you have RCI insurance on this exchange? Or travel insurance?
