Here, listen to this.
We have been owners for more than 20 years. We have done 120 exchanges. We still own six weeks.
But, people, their desires, their needs, their health, their finances, their existence among the living, etc., change.
At some point every timeshare owner will want or need to get rid of it.
As long as no part of the industry, and by that I mean developers, marketers, resorts, HOAs, exchange companies, industry associations, or any other aspect of the timeshare industry, has a conscience or cares about their owners even on their way out, when those owners will no longer mean an income stream, and provides an exit strategy, there will continue to be glut of resale weeks going begging on Craigslist, eBay and dozen of Internet sites, and there will continue to be resale scams targeting owners who simply want to quit timesharing.
Until the industry resolves that problem, it will continue to be regarded poorly by the general public.
Lack of exit strategy is the single most important thing tainting a fairly decent concept.
