How long does it take for inventory held to be released back to the pool.

I put two units on hold and then released them a few minutes later.
Now I can't find them. It's been a few hours and they're lost in cyberspace.
It's not a very popular resort so I seriously doubt anyone took them so where did they go?
Does RCI only update the site every so many hours?

Hopefully it will reappear for the sale but ugggghhh.

I put something on hold before and it said it would release it at midnight. Others have said that it is midnight on the next day.

I have released holds and "re-held" them and it normally seems to take between 7-10 minutes for the units to reappear in online inventory. Having said that, I have had instances where released weeks didn't show up until the next morning or didn't reappear at all (in those instances I am assuming they were grabbed via an online search as it was a more popular resort).

I have always had the hold last until the midnight the day after even when the statement says midnight of the same day. The only time it has released early was at the 15/14 day mark. That being said it has been at least 6 months since RCI changed the email statement and if they decide to change it I don't think you would have any recourse. If yours releases on the first day please post it so we know.

If you're more than 14 days away from checkin, RCI will let you hold the unit for 24 hours. Click through to book the unit and choose "hold" instead of "confirm." There's some question about whether it's actually 24 hours or not as you can see from this thread. You can also confirm a unit, and cancel within 24 hours with no penalty.
