  • Stupid question regarding privacy sleeping

    I know this may seem like a stupid question, but what would be the difference in these two units? I am looking at 2 two bedrooms;

    2 Bedrooms Max Occup (Privacy) : 8 (4) Kitchen : Full Points: 91,000
    2 Bedrooms Max Occup (Privacy) : 8 (6) Kitchen : Full Points: 73,500

    These are for the same resort, same week? Why would a unit with a higher private sleeping capacity be less? If I get a 1 bedroom with a private sleeping capacity of 4 does this mean that each person would have their own bed? And how would that be different from a 2 bedroom with 4 privacy sleeping capacity? I've gone through some various logistical configurations and trying to see how they would come up with these.

    I have answered my own question through some additional research.

      I think it has to do with the bathrooms also.
      So what did your research reveal?
      Do tell.

        we are currently in a one bedroom 4/4, and i believe it is incorrectly given credit for sleeping 4 privately as anyone on the sleeper sofa must walk through the bedroom to use the bathroom. I think the second number is telling you that people can skeep in a separate room and also not need to have people going through the room to use the bathroom.

          Just what you had mentioned, one was a 1 3/4 bath and the other was a 2 full bathroom. As also pointed out though it probably is related how many can occupy a unit without bothering others. I know there from a personal perspective I would always prefer a 2 bedroom, but if a 1 bedroom could accomodate it would reduce costs.

            "without bothering others" is subjective

              That would be incorrect.

              To be a 1br 4/4, there has to be private access to the bathroom from both the bedroom and living room. Walking thru the bedroom to access the bathroom makes ot a 4/2.

                In this case, I would think that the 2br 8/4 is a larger lock-off unit with two bedrooms and two living rooms and two full baths. You have to walk thru the two living rooms to get to the two bedrooms so technically they can not list it as private. It is probably the bigger unit of the two.

                The 2br 8/6 would be a dedicated two bedroom where the second bedroom has 2 queen beds or a bed and sofa bed that would sleep 4 in that one room. Or this would also fit the description of most 2br lock-offs where the combo is a one bedroom/studio.

                Some resorts list a bathroom as a 3/4 when it has a walk in shower in the bathroom instead of a shower/tub combo. That is still a full bath to me.
