  • I think I made my last RCI points exchange

Barring any last minute 9K weeks that miraculously appear, I made my last RCI points trade today, HHV Lagoon Tower in Waikiki in the fall of next year. I had a good run with my Aussie points and I think the points side offers a lot more possibilities than the weeks side when it comes to exchanges. Paying that $199 exchange fee reminded why I am on my out, though. I have 14 tpus left on the weeks side and I then will be done there, too. After that, it will be rentals and GPX exchanges/bonus weeks.

Sounds like a really nice last RCI points booking.

Every time I think I will join RCI-I remind myself about the higher fees. I have made it this long without it...I think I'm good too. II, GPX and the other independents are good enough for me. Agree with Presley, way to go out with a bang at HHV!

RCI used to be a great exchange company. It is really too bad that the Cendant / Wyndham crowd have ruined it through greed.

But there are other options out there to exchange your timeshare.

I have 27 more TPU's to use and then I am done with RCI forever as well. Canadians pay through the nose for exchanges, and I have experienced great service from the 7 other exchange companies I use: II, SFX, HTSE, Platinum, Trading Places, GPX & DAE.

Does this mean you no longer have the ownership that went with the points?
Or are u going to give the underlying week to another exchange company.

i THOUGHT I was going to get out of RCI but my current ownership does very well with TPUs....so I stay.
I also have access thru the Bluegreen/RCI Portal and it allows me to NOT have to deposit anything - I just book with my points if I see something - so this gives me maximum flexibility.

I 'sold' my points timeshare ownership in Australia for the price of closing costs. It was bought by a South African family who just moved to Somerville in Victoria, AU. They had no interest in RCI points, they just wanted a timeshare that was within driving distance. They plan to use those two red weeks every year.

Wonderful - glad they went to a good home.
