  • Help setting up weeks account

Sorry for the rant, but I am extremely frustrated with this whole RCI thing, and not at all sure what I have done wrong. I went out and purchased a Triennial VVP that had already been converted to points. This was with the understanding that when I purchased a VVP converted to points property I would automatically get a free weeks account as well.

When I called RCI today, they said no you don't have access to a weeks account. Anything in the weeks side of things is associated a point value and I will see it in my RCI points account.

This is NOT what I wanted at all as I really wanted access to weeks since that is where personally I see some of the best deals, regardless of what other's experiences have been. She then proceeds to tell me that I can setup a weeks accoung using another ownership with another property but the names have to match exactly. I figure, ok I can hopefully use my CMV unit, so she direct me to the Member Benefits section, so I can set it up there and that it should link to my points account she says. However when I do that wants me to pay another $89.95!! Why would I pay two memberships?

Of course the weeks account numbers are different then the points account numbers, so I can't just re-register so what am I supposed to do now? On top of that there is some stupid note that says "a Maintenance Fee Block has been placed on some portion of your Points balance."

What should I do, try and contact another rep? I called VVP and they said that they just haven't sent all the information over so how long do I wait. I swear, once this is done this is my last purchase since all this issues are giving me a headache. My last BG purchase took 7 months to complete while they messed around with there new stupid ROFR.

Alas, I am at my wits end as this is the culmination of a terrible week where my HD crashed on me so this just adds insult to injury.

You need to talk to another RCI guide or RCI tech guide. As long as you have paid for your points membership (which can take a long time to set up properly) then an RCI agent should be able to take the information about your non-points week and set you up with a weeks account for free. The account shouldn't take more than a day to set up but then RCI does verify your other ownership before allowing you to start depositing. You won't be able to do any searches with the new account until you have something deposited in it.

Ask for a supervisor when you call, and call during normal M-F business hours. I don't understand the points-weeks thong myself, but it sounds like you do. Dont mess w an ordinary guide, try for a supervisor off the bat and explain what you need to have happen. Good luck!
