RCI Platinnum

Is it worth upgrading to RCI Platinum ? I was about to renew and the suggested upgrade showed up. I use Worldmark for RCI trades and haven't had good luck getting as good a unit as I like when trading. Same goes for extra vacations.

IMO worth if you have lots of points to save or use

I wanted to save more points for next year and use more than usually for flying. I went for Platinum and in addition I have something similar to "club dollars" to use for dollars I spend on RCI (plus some bonus for upgrade). I wonder how it will work but looks OK. From experience I would not count on promised better treatment tho...

Ok, I renewed yesterday but I didn't purchase the platinum upgrade because I already receive all of them with the exception of the extra vacation discount because I own Worldmark. I use the Worldmark portal to RCI.

With my other ts's there could definitely be benefits but I use those myself or rent them out pretty easy.

I renewed but only because I was late in depositing and wanted to reinstate my full trading power. The rebate on guest certificates was the reason I got it in the first place, and they did away with that benefit.

I have been a platinum member for over a year and so far is not worth it. Your supposed to be able to get upgrades (if they come available) and I haven't seen one yet. The ongoing searches are nice but because the resorts I want never come up, I have wasted my money so far. For what I use RCI for, it may just not be for me. Some of the other benefits may be good for other members just not me.
