Hey eveyone, been an RCI member for 20+ years and when they first started offering DVC vacations, I jumped on the chance. Due to me owning within the 50 mile limit, I was stopped from being able to book any more DVC resorts after my first time. My mother-in-law owned a resort in Destin, FL and we would transfer points into her account and book them that way. All in all, we have stayed at Saratoga Springs, Wilderness Lodge twice, and Animal Kingdom lodge, all two bedroom units. We now own my mother-in-laws timeshare in Destin with the hopes to just be able to book these resorts as normal, but here is my problem.
As soon as we acquired the Destin resort, we have not seen another two-bedroom DVC resort come up on RCI in three years. We have become RCI platinum members so we could do ongoing searches for every DVC resort there is in Orlando and have not seen anything but one-bedrooms. I have spoke with RCI on three different occasions about this and the first person I talked to said that our Destin resort doesn't receive enough points since it's biannual to even be able to see a two-bedroom come up. He told me I would never see a two-bedroom DVC resort unless I purchased another timeshare that received more points than a DVC resort costs in one year. I was shocked to hear this but ended up dealing with one of their vacation specialists and they told me I would just have to become a platinum member and do an ongoing search and be patient as RCI rarely gets two-bedrooms from Disney anymore.
I have asked on two other occasions if I even have the possibility to see a two-bedroom based on my ownership and never get a straight answer except for the person that said I couldn't a few years ago.
So my question is: Is anyone else seeing two-bedroom DVC resorts come up ever in the last year?
