  • RCI membership special & a "wait list"

I was on with RCI confirming an exchange when the VC told me they were rolling back prices to the 20-yr-ago price of $66/wk (it's now $89). I thought that was pretty good. She said the max was 10 years for $660. I told her I would take 5 years (I really don't need 5 more years but I get so excited when I smell a sale ). Well, it's $69/yr if you only want 5, but still you save $100 over the next 5 yrs and who knows what the price will be going up to. I balked, but she clinched it by telling me I can pay in 3 installments of $116, $116 and $117. SOLD!

PS - I asked about extending a week. She told me the minimum is 3 mos for $59. The week expires in July 2007 and I wanted an exchange for Aug. 11.
She spoke to a supervisor and comped me the 2 week extension. Of course, this was AFTER I bought the 5 extra years. Downside, however, is that the newly extended week couldn't pull the exchange I was looking for. She said she was putting me on a "wait" list. I didn't have to pay the exchange fee in advance, but if somehow the week becomes strong enough to pull that exchange due to change in trading power/requirements, I'd get it. I had never heard of that one. Since it didn't cost me anything, I told her sure. She assured me I wouldn't have to tie up the week and can still search with it. Has anyone else done this?

No idea. It just gets more and more complicated every year. How do you know whether the waitlist is working?

Well, I logged on again and saw my week had disappeared! I checked ongoing searches and there was the search. So all it is, actually, is a search without paying in advance. I'll leave it there awhile, but there is a cancel or modify button if I choose to use it.

My husband says he wishes they would roll back their exchange fees too. They just keep going up and up. Debby
