"RCI Bonus Weeks" Help?

I just read in another thread that RCI Bonus Weeks can be used for anything in the 45 day window.....Is this true? In the past I have tried that before and they would not let me use my Bonus Weeks for any high demand area and it was very restrictive to complete off season weeks where I would not want to go anyway. Has there been a policy change or am I missing something?

John, you're probably refering to my other post about the bonus weeks I got from one of our other resorts. That was my understanding that I was told when I booked an offseason week in Banff using that bonus week. I didn't think otherwise. However, it seems the info you had was correct and I was wrong. I just tried to book a week in SoCal three weeks from now using one of those bonus weeks. I was not able to do so. (I even tried a few different guides). It is limited to certain areas and times as you've noted.

My impression is that Bonus Weeks are for very low demand areas only, and have little value. However, I don't know for sure.

Don't forget, RCI rents out surplus weeks very cheaply on venues such as SkyAuction.com So, when determining the value of an RCI surplus week, bear in mind that such weeks may be available cheaply to the general public.
