This sounds like something that goes waaay back and none of my business, however, as long as what I read re: Conchie (a true gent & class act) is said in fairness (which I think it is), fine.

I don't understand why you see the Moderators of this forum as problematic. Sure, Bootleg is no longer here so there would probably be value in having a second mod. That is for no reason other to ensure that there is always somebody around.
I have never seen any activity on the RCI board, by Carolinian, or anybody else, to suggest that their treatment of posts in the forum have been anything other than even handed. If you have evidence to the contrary have you passed it to either BigFrank or Quarterbore?
If you haven't any evidence of mismanagement of the forum I suggest you quit the inferred slurs.

Sorta confirms my smartass thread, that you have to be one to appreciate the humor.

Sometimes some of you take things way too seriously. Perhaps you miss the smilies, or can't see the expression on my face as I am posting.

Perhaps if we met in real life, and understood each other better, some of this tit-for-tat (do they say that in England?) would stop.

I don't see Steve complaining, or even bootleg, so perhaps they appreciate and understand my thoughts, as both of them and I go back many years with our thoughts about RCI.

JFYI Bootleg as you may have heard might have been caught and has not been back since then. I left him on just in case he might return but I doubt it.

As far as Steve goes, He has done more for the growth of this site than he has gotten credit for. He has also done a lot of work on the Links Directory.
It is one thing just hanging out here, it is another thing to help it along and to put something into it.
I do appreciate all that Steve and all of the rest of the moderators that are here every single day. They are the ones thats making it fun to watch our little puppy grow.

Things get misconstrued on the Internet when the misconstruers get involved.

No slur was made toward anyone, Steve and I having fought many of the same battles, in the midst of oppression, way before many of those now using these sites stumbled on to them. He and I have taken some of the same personal criticism from the RCI-Love-Em-Or-Leave-Em crowd.

Likewise, I have emails going back and forth with bootleg since he first showed up, sometimes fighting the same battles and sometimes opposing the things he was saying because I had other evidence.

And, yeah, RCI has been trying to identify him for a long time. Everyone knows that or should realize that, since he was violating their employment policy. That's no skin off my patootie, but I remember having a similar discussion OY several years ago, and I was accused of ratting him out. What a crock!

Those who are informed know the source of my chuckling, and I really should not have to explain it, but for those who don't understand, bootleg and Carolinian have probably made more anti-RCI comments than everyone else combined, and here they are moderating the RCI forum.

I find that amusing. If others don't so be it.

So, like, when you set up the OLCC forum, maybe I should moderate it.

Perhaps I am way out of line here, but I am sensing in this thread a little of that double standard, that part-of-us or not-part-of-us inner clique sentiment which made things boil over in the summer of 2004.

Hopefully not, though, cuz that would be a shame.

Has anyone heard of him because you knew him personally? I know some people have talked with him on the phone. I have only exchanged emails and some chats. He was very helpful to me.

There was another RCI fellow recently here but I see he is gone already or is he still here under a different name? I hope he reads some of the old posts where Bootleg's predicament was discussed.
